After you have successfully set up your CCTV system with help using the accompanying ‘Quick Connection Guide’ and ‘Quick Setup Guide’, you will need to know how to use it normally. Please follow the steps shown in this guide to learn how to view live video from your camera(s), playback recorded footage, and to backup the recorded footage when an incident has occurred e.g. trespasser broke-in.

When you click the right mouse button you may be asked to login.
No password is required at this point. To create one go to: ‘Main Menu’ ‘System’ ‘Accounts’
Important: change the password on your device to ensure optimum security.

Click right mouse button anywhere on the screen to bring up this menu:
View 1/View 4/View 8 - Select How many live camera channels you wish to view and which ones
Guide - Recorder’s setup guide, please see the ‘Quick setup guide’ for info.
PTZ Control - PTZ controls for any connected Pan Tilt Zoom camera.
HighSpeedPTZ - Controls for a high speed PTZ camera.
Color Setting - Adjust the colour settings for each video channel.
Output Adjust - Adjust the image output to the connected monitor.
Logout - Logout, Restart, or Shutdown recorder options.
PlayBack - Playback recorded footage, please turn over for instructions.
Record Mode - Select the recording mode for each camera channel.
Main Menu - Brings up the recorder’s Main Menu options, see below.

2. Playing Back Recorded Footage
View archived footage from your cameras, which is stored on your recorder’s internal storage device. Please follow the steps below; showing you how to playback recorded footage, and then how to backup video to an external storage device.
Step 1
Click right mouse button to bring up ‘Quick Options Menu’.
Select ‘Playback’ from the options: Login if required.
Step 2
The playback interface will look like the example shown below:
Make sure the ‘Read/Write’ option, located on the top right-hand side of the screen, is selected.
Step 3
Select the date you wish to view recorded video from, by using the calendar displayed on the right-hand section of the interface.

Select which channels you wish to view the recorded video by using the channel list as shown here:

Use the timeline and the playback controls to view the recorded footage, see timeline below:
The sections of the timeline that are shown in green shows the footage recorded at that point during the day. To view video footage from a particular time; move the cursor over the timeline, hover the cursor over a particular time, and click left mouse button. You will be shown in the video monitor window the footage recorded at that time. Also, use the playback controls (see below) to control video playback.
Step 6: Backing up video
1. Once you have chosen the day and channel you wish to backup footage from, click on the refresh icon to be taken to the backup interface.
2. Select from the list which hour(s) you want to backup.
3. Check the file size of the video(s) to backup before you save to your USB storage device. Make sure you have enough space on your storage device before proceeding.
4. Insert your USB storage device into the USB port on the front of the recorder.
5. Click on the save icon to bring up the ‘Backup’ window.
The backup device will be displayed on the list. Select the device and click ‘Backup’.
6. The next window will allow you to adjust the start and end times of the footage you wish to
backup.
Select ‘Add’ to add it to the list below. Select ‘AVI’ in the ‘Backup format’ list, and then finally ‘Start’ to commence backup. You will be notified when backup is complete.
