Initialising a Camera to work with other units

This guide will instruct you how to initialise a Cognitio or Eagle camera to work with Viper or other units.

This does not need to be done if the Cognitio or Eagle camera is being added to a Cognitio or Eagle NVR or DVR.

What you will need:

• Cognitio or Eagle Camera
• Laptop

Step 1:

First you will need to download the Dahua Config Tool from this webpage: https://dahuawiki.com/ConfigTool

Using this tool while connected to the same network as the camera will allow you to see the camera in the list of connected cameras.

Step 2:

If you tick the camera in the list, at the bottom left of the page, click initialise. You may be prompted to put a password into the camera, this can be whatever you like, just make sure you use the same on the recorder when you are adding the camera, as the recorder will prompt you for the password of the camera when you add it. 

Step 3:

The modify network settings can then be used to set the camera to DHCP. Go to the search settings at the top of the page and in this dialogue box, type in the username and password that you set on the camera. you can then tick the camera in the list, click modify IP Address and set it to DHCP.
