To update the firmware on a Viper camera, you will need:
- Laptop with Viper camera configuration tool
- POE switch or Viper unit
Connect the laptop to the camera via a POE switch, or plug the camera into the POE ports on the back of the Viper, and plug the laptop into a spare POE port.
Use the viper camera configuration tool to find the IP address of the camera.
Using Internet Explorer, log into the IP address of the camera, with the username admin and password 123456.
Go to the config tab at the top of the page, and go to upgrade on the left.
Select the file from your PC, and click upgrade, the camera will then reboot when finished.
If you do not have the plugins for activeX, this will not work, you will need to enable the prompting of unsigned activeX controls on your machine, and install them while Internet Explorer is not open on your PC.
