This guide will take you through logging directly into a Cognitio or Eagle camera, either via a switch, or if the camera is plugged into the recorder's POE, how to get to the camera through the recorder.
Via a switch:
Step 1:
Plug the camera into a POE switch. Connect the laptop to switch via an ethernet cable and using the Dahua config tool found here, you should be able to see the camera in the list.
Step 2:
If the camera is not initialised, take a look here for how to initialise it so that we can log into it.
Step 3:
If you change your laptop or PCs IP range to the same range of the camera (in most cases, first three numbers in the IP address the same, the last must be different), you will then be able to click the internet explorer icon to open the cameras webpage. Log into the cameras webpage with the same details you used to initialise the camera.
Via the recorder:
Step 1:
Plug the recorder and PC or laptop into the same router or network. Make sure your PC or laptop is on the same network range as the recorder.
Step 2:
Find the recorder with Dahua config tool and click the internet explorer icon, or type in the IP address into internet explorer, and log into it using the username and password you have set up upon booting the recorder and initialising it.
Step 3:
Go to the 9 dot icon in the top left, go to camera, and go to camera list. The added cameras should be on the bottom section of this page. click the internet explorer icon on the right to open the cameras webpage. You may need to allow pop ups and re log into the recorder.
